Sistine Sound Bath, McNay Art Museum (virtual)

  • Teletextile Brooklyn, NY teletextile@gmail United States (map)

Join Pamela Martinez/Telextile for a relaxing midday break. Soothe the senses with a virtual sound bath inspired by the exhibition Hollywood’s Sistine Chapel: Sacred Sets for Stage and Screen. Participants of the sound bath can expect to be lulled into deep relaxation using the sounds of singing bowls, gong, tuning forks, vocals, and other sound sources to provide a meditative and healing environment while lying down.

What is a sound bath?

A sound bath takes us on a restorative journey through sound. It is a practice that utilizes the vibrational power of sound to hold space for a time to tune into our higher selves while allowing the body to rest and digest.

Suggested requirements:

  • A comfortable, quiet floor space for you to lay down in.

  • A yoga mat or a soft blanket to recline on.

  • Headphones, if you have them.
